Getting to photograph Amethyst Jonquille at Sahara Lounge was such a treat. I first met her when she opened for Yall Out Boy, so I was already excited to see her take the stage again. Sahara Lounge can be a tricky spot to shoot since the lighting stays pretty dim, but that challenge ended up making the whole experience even more fun. I spent the night finding pockets of light, catching the glow on her face, and grabbing moments where the band locked in together.


There is something really special about photographing an artist who is fully in their element. Amethyst has this calm confidence that pulls you in, and even in the low light the energy from her and her band came through in every frame. The room felt intimate and warm, and I walked away with some shots that I am genuinely proud of.
