I have photographed Patrick’s bands plenty of times over the years, so getting the chance to photograph his family this time around felt like a really special change of pace. We met up at Buda Mill and Grain Co for a slow morning walk, letting the kids explore while we found little pockets of good light around the area. Katie had just graduated, so we mixed in a few portraits of her as well, and the whole session had this easygoing energy that made everything feel natural.


Family sessions like this are some of my favorites because they give space for real personality to show up. The kids were full of curiosity, Patrick and Katie were relaxed and laughing, and every stop along the way gave us something fun to work with. By the end of it, we had a collection of images that felt warm, honest, and true to who they are as a family.
