Every now and then a band pops up in my feed that makes me stop scrolling, and that was Shosty for me. I kept seeing their posts after sharing some Y'all Out Boy photos, and their sound immediately grabbed me. Female led pop punk with a fresh edge is always going to get my attention. When I realized our schedules finally lined up during a weekend I was already in Houston, I reached out and got the green light to come photograph their show at Dan Electros. It turned out to be such a great night.


I showed up early enough to catch Screaming Insecurities and FUSS before Shosty took the stage. Screaming Insecurities came out in skeletal makeup and delivered some killer alternative covers, including a version of Chasing Cars that absolutely hit. FUSS followed with heavier riffs and a ton of energy. By the time Shosty stepped up, the room was packed and ready. Their set was loud, fun, and full of personality, and I had a blast capturing every moment. Nights like this remind me why I love photographing live music.
