I've shot plenty of weddings, but I'd never actually been to the TRF wedding open house until this year, which feels wild given how much I talk about wanting to shoot more Ren Faire weddings. Getting added to their preferred vendor list was the excuse I needed, and I spent the whole day wondering why it took me this long to go. If you've never been, picture a mix of bridal expo and costume convention, except everyone is significantly more fun to photograph than your average expo hall.
The highlight of the day, hands down, was one of the dress shops turning their stage time into a full runway show. We're talking themed gowns, dramatic reveals, and the shop owner MC'ing the whole thing like she was born to do it. Every dress that came down that runway was more over the top than the last, from classic white ball gowns to full fairy wing, blackout veil, dark romance looks. On top of that, I got to catch up with TRF staff friends before the season even kicks off, which honestly might have been my favorite part of the whole day.
If you're planning a wedding that leans quirky, whimsical, or straight up "we want fairy wings and nobody can stop us," I would love to be the one documenting it. Check out more of my work and get in touch about booking your own Renaissance Festival wedding or styled session.
