If you've never been to a Y'all Out Boy show, let me paint you a picture: the crowd is losing their minds, someone in a heart-shaped glasses is crowd surfing, and the second Mr. Brightside kicks in, every single person in that room becomes best friends. I had the absolute pleasure of shooting their Emo Valentine's Ball at Emo's in Austin -- and yes, the irony of a pop-punk Emo Valentine's show at a venue literally called Emo's was not lost on me. The universe was doing its thing that night.


Emo's is one of those Austin staples that just gets it. It's hosted some of the bigger touring acts to roll through the city, and the atmosphere has this lived-in, perfectly grimy rock venue energy that makes concert photography feel like a playground. Y'all Out Boy brought everything you'd want from a pop-punk night, like legit mosh pits, raw energy from the stage, and a crowd that was fully committed to having the best night of their lives. My job was basically just to keep up.
