Meet the Photographer

An Austin based photographer and long time Texas Renaissance Festival regular. I have been wandering those trails for years as both a fan and a working photographer, and getting invited back by the TRF marketing team for two seasons and counting has been one of the highlights of my career. Along the way I have been lucky enough to photograph several weddings at the festival, each one filled with its own blend of magic, mischief, and the kind of unscripted moments I live for.


My approach is rooted in photojournalism. I do not pose or interrupt. I watch, anticipate, and let the story unfold naturally. TRF weddings are full of energy and personality, and my goal is always to disappear into the crowd so I can capture the real moments you will want to remember. If you hear me at your wedding, it is probably just me saying “Pretend I am not even here,” right before I catch the moment no one else noticed.


When I am not photographing weddings or festival weekends, I am usually at concerts, throwing heavy things in Highland Games, hanging out with my wife Mary and our pups, or diving into another creative project. But TRF will always feel like a second home, and documenting love stories there is something I never take for granted.

This package captures your entire TRF wedding journey from start to finish. I’ll be with you in the dressing rooms for getting‑ready moments, follow your procession through the festival, document your ceremony, and cover your reception as you celebrate with family and friends. After the ceremony, we’ll also take a short couples session anywhere in the faire you love and do a quick, relaxed 15‑minute walk with a variety of natural, documentary‑style poses. This option is perfect for couples who want the full story of their day preserved.

This package focuses on the heart of your TRF wedding day. I’ll photograph you getting ready, your procession through the festival, and your ceremony, then guide you through a short 15‑minute couples session in any area of the faire you choose. Group photos after the ceremony are included as well. It’s a great fit for couples who want meaningful coverage without the reception portion covered.
