Man, where do I even start with Trent Turner? I first stumbled upon his incredible talent back in 2013 or 2014, while hanging out with my friend Jessica at The Elephant Room, soaking in some local jazz vibes. After that, we took a short stroll over to 6th Street to catch some blues—my go-to spots being BD Riley's and Friends for those soulful tunes. As I walked past BD Riley's, I heard my all-time favorite guitar song, "Little Wing" by Stevie Ray Vaughan, playing. I just had to walk in and catch the rest of the set Trent Turner was playing.
I was hooked! I ended up going to almost every single show he played for the next year or so. We eventually became friends, and Trent even asked me to manage the band and help find gigs. Turns out, I was way better behind the camera than at booking shows, but to this day, I still catch his performances whenever I can. Trent is a phenomenal musician, with jaw-dropping tricks like playing behind his back and even plucking the strings with his tongue.
